FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Marquette University track and field student-athletes Annika Bynum and Daylee Braden competed at the NCAA West First Round this week at Arkansas.
Bynum no heighted in the high jump on Saturday in her first NCAA appearance.
"It just wasn't our day," said Bert Rogers. "Annika came to compete and was ready to go. Unfortunately, she struggled to have a consistent approach. That happens, and it's unfortunate it happened today."
Braden, who owns the program record in the 800m, ran a 2:09.75 to finish seventh in her heat and 40th overall on Thursday night.
"I'm very excited about the future for both Annika and Daylee. Both being first-time qualifiers, this meet was a big learning experience. They will both take what they learned this week and come back stronger next season."
