
Track & Field Competes at First Full Meet of 2025 at Tierney Classic Saturday

Aaron Hughes sets another indoor top-10 mark in the 60m dash
MILWAUKEE – Marquette University track & field competed at its first full meet of 2025 on Saturday at the Tierney Invitational hosted by Milwaukee.
The Golden Eagles competed alongside Milwaukee, UW-Parkside, Wisconsin Lutheran and Bryant & Stratton at the Klotsche Center.
"I was really pleased with our performance this first time out in the new year," Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Bert Rogers said. "We had a whole bunch of PRs and we're really looking forward to building on those the rest of the season starting next week."
Will Waterstradt ran the 10th-fastest 60h time in the prelims at 8.47 seconds.
Aaron Hughes finished second in the 60m at 6.92 seconds.
Julia Beck finished first in the 60h at 8.97 seconds. Audrey Grimm finished second in the mile run at 5:13.56.
Marquette went 1-2 in the women's weight throw with Megan White, who set an indoor PR for the second event in a row at 15.96m and Ally Broaddus (14.32m).
Katina Maclin finished first in the shot put at 12.04m. Pedro Castanon set an indoor PR in the weight throw at 14.53m to finish third.
Marquette finished first in the women's 4x400 relay at 4:07.97 with Natalie Lupa, Isabelle Kissane, Hannah McVey and Norah O'Brien.
Logan Goodman finished third in the 3000m run at 8:55.63. Emma Coon finished first on the women's side at 10:16.76 in her first ever indoor meet.
Norah O'Brien finished first in the women's 400m at 59.41 seconds. On the men's side, Alika Lugo finished third in the same event at 52.40 seconds.
Kaitlyn Huebner finished second in pole vault clearing 3.45m. Milwaukee native John Pitta finished third in the triple jump at 13.86m.
UP NEXT: Marquette splits up next weekend for the Mark Shuck Multi (Mankato, Minnesota) and Meyo Invite (South Bend, Indiana) on Friday, Jan. 31 and Saturday, Feb. 1.
