WTEN Closes Play At USTA Spring Break Tennis

ORLANDO, Florida – The Marquette University women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision Saturday afternoon to close out action at the USTA Spring Break Tennis.
The Huskies opened the match by securing the crucial doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots, taking a 1-0 lead.
UConn won four of the six singles matches to secure the team victory with five points.
Junior Emma Davis notched a three-set victory at No. 3 (6-7, 6-3, 10-2) to put MU on the board.
Freshman Joelle Fiallo Schad picked up a singles victory at the No. 4 position (7-6, 2-6, 10-7) to score Marquette's second point of the match.
UP NEXT: The Golden Eagles will honor Tiera Jarmond, the team's lone senior this season, before hosting St. John's at 11 a.m. CT at the Sprovieri Tennis Complex.
