Golden Eagles host No. 21 Wisconsin Sunday at 6 p.m. CT
The Marquette University women's soccer team (3-0, 0-0 BIG EAST) earned its second road win of the campaign Thursday night, a 1-0 decision at Milwaukee (1-2-0, 0-0-0 Horizon) in non-conference action.

The Golden Eagles are now 3-0 to begin a season for the first time since the 2020-21 Spring Covid campaign. The last time Marquette began the year 4-0 was in 2012.

One day after her birthday, senior Molly Keiper netted her first-career goal and a score that proved to be the match winner. Milwaukee netminder Lilly Hanke was issued a red card in the 21st minute and Keiper's 19-yard strike after the foul was buried into the side of the net inside the left post.

Marquette, despite being up a player for the final 70 minutes of action, was forced to consistently defend against the Panther attack following intermission and goalkeeper Hailey Wade made four second-half saves to post her third-straight shutout of the season and fourth of her career.

"Sometimes it's better two win ugly than lose pretty," head coach Chris Allen said. "I love that about our team, that we are able to be resilient and find a way to win in a very difficult environment against a NCAA quality opponent."
