
Golf Earns 2024-25 PLATFORM Golf Presidents Special Recognition Team Academic Award

Golden Eagles earn honor for 14th straight year
NORMAN, Oklahoma – Marquette University men's golf earned 2024-25 PLATFORM Golf Presidents Special Recognition Team Academic honors, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Tuesday.
The Golden Eagles put together a 3.641 GPA during the 2024-25 academic year and had five student-athletes named NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars: Patrick Adler, Max Lyons, Johan Widal, Ryan Banas and Mason Schmidtke. Adler was named CSC Academic All-District while Lyons earned CSC Academic All-American honors.
Marquette is the only school in NCAA Division I men's golf to have had five all-American scholars every year since 2021-22. The Golden Eagles also lead all of NCAA Division I men's golf with 24 honorees since the 2020-21 season.
Marquette has earned the team academic honor every year since 2011-12, a current streak of 14 consecutive years. To be eligible for GCAA Outstanding Team Academic honors, a college or university must submit GPAs for each player on their official squad list for the academic year.
A GCAA-record 292 schools across six divisions earned a Platform Golf Team Academic Award. 129 schools including Marquette received Presidents Special Recognition for having an average team GPA of 3.5 or above.
