Candinas finishes top 20 in first collegiate event
MAPLE PLAIN, Minnesota – The Marquette University men's golf team opened its 2025-26 season with an 11th-place finish at the Gopher Invitational at Windsong Farm Golf Club on Monday.
Mischa Candinas finished tied for 20th in his Marquette and NCAA debut. The freshman from Switzerland shot a 1-under 70 in his first 18 holes and finished at 4-over (70-73-74—217).
Vincent Cervantes tied Cardinas on the individual leaderboard after an even par round Monday. The sophomore improved each round going 74-72-71—217.
Texas A&M took home the team title shooting even par over four rounds. A&M's Aaron Pounds and South Carolina's Frankie Harris shared medalist honors at 8-under par.
