Golden Eagles Fall 4-3 to Close Out Weekend

MU recorded three singles wins against Montana State
GRAND FORKS, ND - The Marquette University men's tennis team fell 4-3 to Montana State on Saturday evening to close out opening weekend.
The Bobcats opened the match by claiming the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, giving them a 1-0 advantage heading into singles action.
Blake Roegner, Clayton Anderson, and Remi St. Laurent secured wins for the Golden Eagles.
Roegner defeated Andre Stewart in three sets after dropping the first set 6-7. Roegner took the second 7-6 and won the tiebreak 10-4. Anderson also saw his match go into an extended set. The sophomore won the first set 6-2, but Oumar Diallo responded in the second with a 6-1 victory. Anderson left little room for doubt as he cruised to a 6-4 win to secure the point for MU.
St. Laurent defeated Camille Chantron in a 7-5, 6-4 straight set victory.
Montana State used wins at the No. 4, 5, and 6 spots to secure the team victory.
