T&F Completes Day One at Meyo Invitational, Mark Schuck Multis

Golden Eagles split across two states, continue events Saturday.
MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Marquette University track and field team completed day one at the Mark Schuck Multi in Mankato, Minn. and the Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind. Friday evening.
The Golden Eagles saw success in multiple events on day one of the Meyo Invitational at Notre Dame, with four Golden Eagles setting new personal-bests. For the men, the duo of Danny Olsen and Frankie McGee each added marks to the top-10 200m list and set new personal-bests, with Olsen running 21.55 for second in the race, while McGee ran 21.93 for fifth. Olsens mark ranks second in MU history, while McGee's is seventh on the list. Blake Frea also placed 10th in the race with a personal-best 22.42. Sanai Baker added a personal-best 7.83 in the women's 60m, while Marley Stoller added a season-best 25.91 in the 200m at 25.91.

In the first day of the multi-events in Minnesota, three Golden Eagles sit in the top-10 of the heptathlon. Gus Kasun is second after day one with 2,821 points, 74 points behind leader Jonny Cheney of Sioux Falls. His ranking was thanks to second-place finishes in the long jump and shot put, while putting forward season-bests in both the 60m (7.20) and high jump (1.78m) to finish fifth and seventh, respectively. Cole Donahe ranks eighth, putting forward a personal-best 1.78m in the high jump to finish sixth, while Henrik Rosario sits in ninth place, powered by a personal-best 7.48 in the 60m. Libby McCarthy finished 18th in the pentathlon, scoring 2,479 points, highlighted by a fifth-place finish in the high jump with a season-best 1.57m.
