MU enters four new marks to all-time lists.

MILWAUKKE, Wis. - The Marquette University track and field team posted a strong set of performances on Friday as the Golden Eagles split squads between the DePaul Blue Demon Alumni Classic in Chicago and the GVSU Big Meet in Allendale, Michigan.

At DePaul, junior Danny Olsen paced the sprinters, running a personal-best 6.94 seconds in the 60-meter dash (No. 8 all time) before taking second in the 400 meters in 47.50. Freshmen Blake Frea (48.98) and Alika Lugo (50.19), along with senior Gabriel Thiel (52.38), added season bests in the 400. Freshman Charlie Dutmer ran a personal-best 8.72 in the 60-meter hurdles, while three women- freshman Amerie Mitjans-Shapiro (9.30), sophomore Olivia Verden (9.41) and sophomore Libby McCarthy (9.66) also set PRs in the event.

MU set a pair of new all-time marks in the 200m, with Frankie McGee running the fifth-fastest time in program history at 21.83, while Bobby King ran 21.89 for the eighth-fastest time indoors in MU history. Sophomore Alexa Overstreet ran a personal-best 5:31.29 in the mile, and freshman Allie Opalka added a PR of 11:11.89 in the 3,000 meters. Sophomore Edgar Valles led the men's 3,000 in 8:56.34.

Senior Haley Schaffer placed eighth in the women's long jump at 5.60 meters (18-4.5), while sophomore Ally Broaddus took sixth in the women's weight throw at 16.94 meters (55-7). Marquette closed the meet with a runner-up finish in the men's 4x400-meter relay (3:15.43), which was the second-best mark in MU history.

At Grand Valley State, freshman Patrick Clune led the Golden Eagles with a personal-best 4:10.56 to finish sixth in the men's mile. Junior Nick Parrell ran a personal-best 14:41.62 in the 5,000 meters, followed by freshman Dylan Riniker (14:43.31), junior Logan Goodman (15:09.11, PR) and junior Will Allen (15:01.99). Sophomore Ethan Aidoo added a season-best 4:16.88 in the mile.

Freshman Sadie Kibelstis paced the women's 5,000 meters with an 18:25.12 showing, while freshmen Taya Gummerson (18:37.55), Kaylie Earl (18:44.33) and Elise Fischer (18:45.00) all turned in strong efforts.

MU returns to Milwaukee next Saturday, Feb. 21, for the Panther Tune-Up on the campus of UW-Milwaukee. Next Saturday's meet will be the final tune-up before the 2026 BIG EAST Track and Field Championships on Feb. 27-28 in Chicago.
