Claire McHugh is entering her fifth season as Head Coach of the Marquette Cheerleading Team in 2025-26.
A 2014 graduate of Marquette's Diederich College of Communications, McHugh coached high school cheerleading (and dance) from 2014 - 2018 at Wauwatosa East High school.
At Marquette, she was a four-year member of the cheerleading team and a captain her senior season.
The Barrington, Illinois, native was a four-year member of the Barrington Broncos sideline and competitive co-ed cheer team (and a three-year varsity member), securing three trips to the IHSA State Competition, a third-place podium finish in 2009, and a fourth-place finish in 2010. She served as a captain her season year.
McHugh currently works as a Marketing & Public Relations Supervisor at Milwaukee Recreation in addition to coaching. She resides in Shorewood with her husband Dan (MU '13), and their two cats, Piper & Scout. She is an avid runner, hiker, and above anything else, a fan of all things MU.
