Former Marquette defenseman Brendon Connolly is in his second season on the men’s lacrosse staff in 2020-21 and first as a volunteer assistant coach after serving as an undergraduate coach in 2019-20.
Connolly finished his playing career at Marquette in 2019 as one of its most accomplished long poles in program history. The Towson, Maryland native ended his career fifth in caused turnovers (35), eighth in ground balls (72) and started every game in which he appeared as a junior and senior. He played long-stick midfielder as a freshman and sophomore before switching to close defense for his final two seasons in Milwaukee.
Connolly helped the Golden Eagles to a pair of BIG EAST tournament championships and NCAA appearances in 2016 and 2017, the first in program history.
The four-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team selection graduated with a bachelor’s degree in marketing in May 2020.
