2007: Purdy played in seven contests for the Golden Eagles and made six starts as a goalkeeper. He spent a total of 661:41 minutes between the posts, while allowing 11 goals with a 1.50 goals against average. Purdy made 31 saves overall, resulting in a .738 save percentage. Marquette was 1-5 on the season when Purdy got the decision.
Prior to Marquette: The lone goalkeeper in the recruiting class, Steve Purdy played high school soccer for coach Eric Willson at St. Charles North. He was a first-team all-conference and all-section selection by the Chicago Tribune as a senior and an all-conference honorable mention selection as a junior. He played club soccer for Louis Mateus with the Rockford Raptors, helping the team to an indoor national championship. He was a two-time Illinois ODP participant and was a participant in Associate Head Coach Stan Anderson[apos]s summer camps for goalkeepers, Camp Shutout.
Personal: Steven Nicholas Purdy was born September 14, 1989, and is the son of Norman and Valerie Purdy.
