- Volunteer Asst. Coach - Pole Vault
Will Ford will be entering his first year as a volunteer assistant coach at Marquette in 2019-20. He competed in the pole vault at MU from 2014-18 after transferring from Denver University at the conclusion of his freshman year.
This year will be his first collegiate coaching experience, however, he was the pole vault coach for two Marquette Track and Field Summer Instructional Camps during college.
During his time at MU, he helped the men's track and field team win two BIG EAST Outdoor Championships (2016 and 2018). He was elected as one of four team captains during his final season of eligibility in 2017-18. An eight-time All-BIG EAST honoree, Ford won a BIG EAST Outdoor Championship (2016, 4.80 meters/15-9 feet) and a BIG EAST Indoor Championship (2017, 4.60 meters/15-1 feet) in the pole vault. His 2016 height to win the indoor championship landed him at No. 2 on the all-time list at MU.
From the 2016-2018 seasons he held the outdoor pole vault school record (4.91 meters/16-1.25 feet), which is now held by Joel Swanberg, 5.00meters/16-4.75 feet).
A 2018 graduate of MU, Ford double majored in accounting and finance, and now works as an associate at CliftonLarsonAllen LLP.
Originally from McHenry, Illinois, Ford's immediate family consists of his father, Steve, mother, Mary, and three sisters, Stephanie, Rachel and Jackie. He currently lives in Milwaukee.
