Rachel Thiel is in her first year as a volunteer assistant coach at Marquette, helping with the throwers.

While competing at Marquette, she threw the shot put, hammer and the discus. Her collegiate career concluded with a trip to the NCAA West Preliminary Round meet where she competed in the shot put.

Thiel holds the school record in the outdoor shot put, is fourth all-time in the indoor shot put, seventh all-time in the weight throw, ninth all-time in the hammer and ninth all-time in the discus.

In 2010, Thiel graduated with a bachelor[apos]s degree in biology from Marquette. Currently she is enrolled in Marquette[apos]s Physical Therapy program.
