2024 (RS): Long did not see the court as a true freshman at Marquette.
Prior to Marquette: Long capped a decorated prep career by leading Lincoln Southwest High School to its first Nebraska Class A Championship in 2023 and earning VBallRecruiter.com’s National Senior Player of the Year ... The 6-foot-1 setter was named the tournament’s most valuable player and a captain of the Omaha World Herald All-Nebraska First Team and Lincoln Journal Star Super State First Team ... The two-time team captain and all-state performer led the Silverhawks, under head coach Jessica Kirkendall, to four district and three Heartland Athletic Conference championships ... Long recorded a school-record 1,067 career assists at Lincoln Southwest and holds program records for most assists per set and in a single season ... She also ranks in the top-10 on the school’s career aces list ... During her club career, Long earned MVP honors while claiming an AAU 15 Open National Championship and JVA All-National Team recognition ... She was a team captain for VCNebraska’s 18 Elite squad under head coach Blake Rawlins and is the No. 4 recruit in the state Nebraska according to Prep Dig ... In addition to volleyball, Long also competed in basketball for two seasons and track & field for four years ... Ranked in the top-10 in school history in the discus throw upon graduation.
Personal: Daughter of Mary McCauley-Long and the late Scott Long ... Has two older siblings, Connor and Alaetra ... Comes from a family of collegiate athletes ... Mother played basketball at the University of North Dakota before a professional career overseas ... Father played basketball at North Dakota State ... Sister, Alaetra, played volleyball at Eastern Connecticut State University and brother, Connor, played basketball at Doane University ... Long was a competitive dancer growing up and had the opportunity as a back-up dancer for Disney Star, Jordan Fisher ... At Lincoln Southwest, Long was very involved in Unified Programs in which she volunteered to assist those with special needs ... Also assisted school's Hope Squad as an ambassador for suicide prevention ... Plans to major in business.

I always was looking for a place with a competitive environment and family atmosphere, with strong academics and I feel like Marquette checks every one of those boxes."
