Schneider Earns Preseason National Ranking at 197 Pounds

MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Marquette University senior Mike Schneider (Elk Grove, Ill. / Conant) earned a preseason national ranking of 16th in the 197-pound division by InterMat, the collegiate wrestling service. InterMat released the rankings earlier this week.

Schneider garnered the national recognition despite the fact the he did not compete last year while taking a redshirt season. Two seasons ago as a junior, he went 31-10, leading the Golden Eagles in victories. His career mark is 77-48.

Schneider and the rest of head coach Jim Schmitz's Golden Eagles open the regular season on Nov. 13 at UW-Stevens Point's Golden Eagle Open.
