LOUISVILLE, Kty. (Ticker) - Holly Holland scored 17 points and Deanna Jackson and Lisa Jackson added 15 apiece as Alabama-Birmingham upset No. 24 Marquette, 71-61, in the quarterfinals of the Conference-USA Tournament.
Holland hit 6-of-10 shots for the Blazers (18-11), who will play in the semifinals on Sunday.
UAB has won four straight following a four-game slide from February 6-19 and avenged a 72-69 defeat at Marquette on January 20.
Mia Thrash added 13 points for the Blazers, who shot 50 percent (25-of-50) from the field and outrebounded Marquette, 39-35.
Marquette (22-6) suffered its second straight loss but should be in good shape to receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Golden Eagles ended the regular season with an 89-71 defeat at DePaul.
Lisa Oldenburg scored 15 points and Kiesha Oliver added 14 for Marquette. The Golden Eagles committed only eight turnovers but shot just 34 percent (21-of-61).
