Marquette Volleyball Drops Home Decision to Cincinnati

Milwaukee -- The Marquette volleyball team saw a three-match win streak come to an end Saturday evening when it dropped a three-game decision to Cincinnati, 5-15, 12-15, 9-15. The loss leaves the Golden Eagles' record at 4-12 overall, 3-2 in Conference USA, while Cincinnati boosts its record to 12-4 overall, 5-0 in the league.
The Bearcats won the match at the net, registering 13 total blocks while holding Marquette to a .047 attack percentage (39-32--148). UC finished with a 57-50 edge in digs while each squad doled out four service aces.
Leading Marquette was junior Mehgan Devine (Harris, Minn.) with 10 kills, the team's lone player to finish with double figure kills. Sophomore Annie Richey (Saint Louis) tallied a team-best 11 digs while posting nine kills. Cincinnati spread out its offensive attack with three players finishing with 10 or more kills. Sophomore Trish Ladusaw enjoyed a fine match for UC, notching a team-high 14 kills along with 14 digs, while senior Shauntel Miller compiled 13 kills.
Marquette's next action takes place next Friday (Oct. 6) when its plays at Charlotte.
