Marquette Volleyball Team Earns First Win

Milwaukee - The 2000 Marquette volleyball team got a much-needed first win of the season this evening, topping Morgan State in four games. The Golden Eagles closed out the first day of competition at the Tiger Invitational in Columbia, Mo., by downing the Lady Bears, 11-15, 15-8, 15-10, 15-1.
Leading the way for Marquette was freshman Megan Markowski (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) with 16 kills. Junior Mehgan Devine (Harris, Minn.) and freshman Ann Lopata (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) each contributed to the win with 13 kills apiece. Freshman Gemma Greer (Winfield, Ill.) doled out 37 assists and sophomore Maura Donnellan (Chicago, Ill.) paced the squad in digs with 11.
MU, now 1-4, faces TCU (11:30 a.m.) and host Missouri (7:00 p.m.) on Saturday.
