Women's Cross Country Finish Third At NCAA Regional

The 18th ranked Marquette women's Cross Country team finished third at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional today, missing an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships by only four points.
The Golden Eagles will have to wait until Monday, Nov. 12 when the NCAA awards its 13 at-large bids. Michigan State and Notre Dame assured themselves places in the championship with their 1-2 finish today.
Leading the way for the women were sophomore Brianna Dahm (Two Rivers, Wis.) and junior Susan Barth who were both named to the All-District team.
Dahm finished sixth overall with a time of 20:57.1. Barth covered the 6K course in 21:30.0, good for 17th place overall.
Senior Bethany Harry (Forty Fort, Pa.) and junior Jessie Swan (West Allis, Wis.) were the next two Golden Eagle finishers. Harry finished 31st overall with a time of 21:58.4 and Swan finished 33rd with a time of 22:00.5.
Junior Jackie Swan (West Allis, Wis.), sophomore Audrey Schiltz and senior Sarah McCullough rounded out the Golden Eagle finishers.
On the men's side, senior Joe Herington (Westerville, Ohio) was named to the All-District team with his 23rd place finish. Herington's time was 31:38.9 on the 10K course. Herington still has a shot at making the NCAA Championships as an individual runner, he too will learn his fate on Monday.
Senior Matt Dunlavy (Elida, Ohio) was Marquette's next finisher, coming in at 33:01.2, good for 84th place. Freshman Jason Crichton (Burlington, Ontario) had a strong showing, finishing 98th overall in a time of 33:10.7.
The NCAA Championships will take place on Monday, Nov. 19 in Greenville, S.C, the meet is hosted by Furman University
