Marquette's women's tennis team is in Texas this weekend, playing at the Conference USA individual meet.
The team has only met one C-USA opponent so far this year. The DePaul Blue Demons were at the Wolverine Invitational in early October.
Junior Anna Pavlovic (Loyola Academy, Chicago) lost in singles to Marina Parashkevo from DePaul, but Pavlovic and teammate Gen Charron (Quebec, Canada) defeated the team of Dybas and Fakluto in doubles action. Charron also defeated Parashkevo in singles play.
Other C-USA teams include N0. 22 ranked TCU, who are new to the conference, No. 39-ranked Tulane and No. 75-ranked UAB (rankings according to ITA Web site).
The tournament is the last outing for the women's fall season. It begins Friday and ends on Sunday.
The spring season begins with the Milwaukee Tennis Classic on January 8.
