Women's Tennis Picks Up Narrow Win

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette women's tennis team picked up four big wins in singles to claim the match with Houston, 4-3. After Houston picked up the doubles point in a split result, Marquette claimed wins at the nos. 2, 3, 5 and 6 spots for the win.
Genvieve Charron picked up Marquette's biggest win 6-1, 6-0 over Karine Urbine. Sommer LaValley earned a default victory at the no. 6 spot to aid in the win. No. 3 Eva Trujillo-Herrera defeated UH's Kailey Meisinger 6-2, 6-0 as part of the team victory.
Marquette next takes on Minnesota at 10 a.m. at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium on Sunday, Feb. 25.
