Redbirds Fly Past Golden Eagles

The Marquette men's tennis team lost their first match of the season on Saturday to Eastern Illinois. The final score was 7-0, but Marquette kept most of the matches as close as possible. The Golden Eagles now stand at 3-1.
Sophomore Peter Mojzis lost both sets to No. 1 singles opponent Ricky Heath in tiebreakers. The final score was 7-6, 7-6.
Kent Davies dropped the first set in his No. 5 singles match to Albert Piaecki, and forced a tiebreaker in the second before losing 7-6.
In another match that the Golden Eagles lost 7-6, 7-5, Bart Cordemeijer lost to the Redbirds' Jason Smit.
The Golden Eagles were again with out Justin Holsen who is still out with the flu. He is expected to return this coming week.
