Marquette Sweeps Bradley Invitational

The Marquette men's and 15th-ranked women's cross country teams both took home first place from the Bradley Invitational in Peoria, Ill.
Marquette senior Joe Herrington (Westerville, Ohio) finished first overall and led the Golden Eagles to a first place finish at their first meet of the season.
Herrington finished the race with a time of 25:01.34, over 20 seconds faster than the second place finisher.
Following Herrington was Marquette junior Kyrk Jordan (Roscoe, Ill./Hononegah) who finished sixth with a time of 25:56.89. Seniors Luke Kunze (Wausau, Wis./West) and Adam Lindell (West Seneca, N.Y./East) finished eighth and 13th, respectively.
Sophomore Salvatore Graziano (Bellmawr, N.J./Paul IV) was the final Golden Eagle scorer, finishing 14th with a time of 26:29.06.
A total of eight teams and 121 athletes participated in the men's meet.
The Marquette women's Cross Country team showed why they are ranked 15th in the country, winning their first meet of the season at Bradley University.
Junior Susan Barth (Bluffton, Ind./Bluffton) picked up where she left off last season and was the top runner for the Golden Eagles finishing second overall with a time of 17:46.
Senior Bethany Harry (Forty Fort, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) and Sophomore Brianna Dahm (Two Rivers, Wis./Two Rivers) followed Barth closely and finished third and fourth, respectively. Harry finished the 5K race with a time of 17:51 and Dahm was one second behind Harry.
Rounding out the scorers for the Golden Eagles were Jessie Swan (West Allis, Wis./Central) who finished seventh overall with a time of 18:17 and Jessie's sister Jackie Swan (West Allis, Wis./Central) who finished 15th with a time of 18:15.
The women's race included ten teams and 160 athletes.
