Women's Cross Country Places 4th at Roy Griak Invitational

Milwaukee-- The 14th ranked Marquette women's cross country team came in fourth out of 22 schools today at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational meet in St. Paul, Minn.
Two Golden Eagles claimed top-ten finishes-- senior Jessie Swan (21:22) and senior Susan Barth (21:24) took home eighth and ninth places. Senior Jackie Swan (21:47) and freshman Jodi Jakubek (22:14) finished in the top 50 with their respective 21st and 44th place marks. There were 143 runners in today's race.
The squad, which has held on to its 14th ranking for two weeks in a row, ended the 6-K race with 149 points, following the top three schools of Michigan State (72 pts.), Arizona State (107 pts.) and Providence College (112 pts.).
The team now heads to the Murray Keatinge Invitational in Orono, ME, on Oct. 5th.
