The Marquette men's and women's track and field teams spent Valentine's Day in a romantic place, Romeoville, Ill. at the Lewis Open.
Senior Crystal Larson showed no love for her competitors in the Weight Throw, dominating the competition with her throw of 51 feet 6 1/2 inches-over five feet from the second place finisher. Sophomore Andrea Engelmann and freshman Heather Thomason took ninth and 13th place, respectively.
Thomason wasn't finished with the Weight Throw. She placed second in the Shot Put with a throw of 39-4.
Sophomore Lucky Denega left the competition blushing following her first place finish in the 55m Hurdles. Denega's time of 8.44 was a personal best.
Sophomore Andy Ballard received a Valentine's gift with a personal best throw of 51-11 1/4 in the shot put, good for third place. Sophomore Jonathan Rosploch took fifth in the same event with a throw of 48-7 1/2, also a personal best.
Freshman Megan Ivers race in the 600m came up all roses as she finished first with a time of 1:44.70.
