Doubles teams fare well at Milwaukee Tennis Classic

Ricky Servoss and Eigis Vedrickas took care of the Nebraska duo of Karl Jones and Marcus Kramer, 8-4. Brett Binkley and Ian Kawas also won their match, 8-4, over Gabe Inchauaste and Matt Sawin of DePaul. The third tandem to advance is Troy Delmege and Pete Van Lieshout, who defeated Erick Martinez and Zegerra Ballon Burga of Northern Illinois 8-2.
The Golden Eagles played well in the first round of singles play as four players claimed their matches. Binkley, Vedrickas, Sirotek and Delmege then were each unable to advance to the quarterfinals in the face of competition from seeded players.
?We won some good first round matches,? coach Steve Rodecap said. ?They won matches that were pretty good matches but no one seemed to step up to the plate to get that one big win.?
Tomek Czernuszewicz is the only Marquette netter still alive in the consolation bracket. He will face J.P. Ritchie tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. at LeClub.
The Servoss/Vedrickas Round of 16 match will take place tomorrow at Helaer Tennis Stadium at 2:30 p.m., Binkley/Kawas play at 3 p.m. and Delmege Van Lieshout at 3:30 p.m.
