Women' Tennis sweeps doubles play, defeating Northern Illinois

In No. 1 doubles Maria Calbeto and Callan Smith defeated NIU?s tandem of Ivonne Andrade and Christy Svetlic, 8-5. The duo of Francina Bonnelly and Elsemieke Dokter had an 8-5 victory over Cassie Drake and Daniela Martinez in No. 2 doubles. The Golden Eagle team of Erin Watkins and Dominika Dabrowski continued the winning with an 8-6 win over Dora Delgadillo and Megan Brooks.
Marquette continued the day with wins in all but No. 1 and No. 4 singles.
In No. 2 singles, Calbeto defeated Andrade, 7-5, 6-4. Dokter persevered through three sets, to beat Northern Illinois? Svetlic, 6-2, 2-6, 6-3.
The Golden Eagles are 1-1 on the season and continue their play tomorrow in Madison vs. Colorado.
