ANCHORAGE, November 24 ? The men?s basketball program gathered with more than 100 friends of Marquette for a Thanksgiving dinner at the team?s hotel on Thursday.
Prior to dining on a traditional Thanksgiving meal, the players and staff, led by head coach Tom Crean, spent some time discussing what they are thankful for.
The Golden Eagles are back in action in the Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout on Friday at 8:30 p.m. when they face Oral Roberts.
"We will absolutely have our hands full Friday night with Oral Roberts," Crean said. "Oral Roberts is really well-coached, extremely good on the offensive boards, had seven layups or dunks in the first half (against USC) and missed six more. They?re going to be absolutely fearless on the boards."
MU has won four straight games in the Shootout dating back to 2001, and is 6-1 all-time in the tournament.
