Women's Soccer to Host Wisconsin in NCAA Tournament

Golden Eagles Earn No. 4 Seed in Upper Right Quadrant
MILWAUKEE ? Marquette University will play host to first and second round matches of the NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament at Valley Fields on Friday, November 11 and Sunday, November 13.
In Friday's first round match-ups in Milwaukee, Horizon League champion Wis.-Milwaukee will take on Purdue, an at large selection, at 5 p.m. That will be followed by Big Ten champion Wisconsin taking on Marquette, an at large selection, at 7:30 p.m. The winners of the first round matches will play in the second round at Valley Fields on Sunday, November 13 at 1 p.m.
The Golden Eagles are the no. 4 seed in the upper right quadrant. It is the first time that Marquette has been a national seed in the NCAA Tournament.
"We're in. We're a seed. We're at home. We're excited. What else could we ask for?" head coach Markus Roeders said. "Now we get ready to play a Wisconsin team on Friday. We know their players and they know ours. We like our chances. We have played our best soccer all season long, and we will ready for this test."
The no. 1 seed in the Upper Right quadrant is UCLA, who hosts its pod, consisting of Mississippi Valley State, Calif.-Riverside and Colorado, on Friday and Sunday. The winners of the Milwaukee pod and the Los Angeles pod will meet in the third round at a time, date and location to be determined.
Marquette, 17-3-2 on the season, is ranked as high as no. 11 by Soccer America and the NSCAA. MU returns to the NCAA Tournament after a two year absence. With this year's selection, Valley Fields will host an NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament match for the fourth time in the facility's history.
