Blue & Gold Fund Benefits Chart in PDF Format The intercollegiate athletics program at Marquette University is a program that is committed to excellence in academics, athletics, and leadership through the service of others. To support this quest for excellence, Marquette established the Blue & Gold Fund in November 1994 to raise funds for athletic scholarships. Athletic scholarships are paramount to a successful intercollegiate athletics program Marquette. Donors to the Blue & Gold Fund appreciate the value of intercollegiate athletics and recognize the importance of scholarship support for student-athletes. Since its inception, the Blue & Gold Fund has provided over $6 million in scholarship support to Marquette student-athletes. More than 4,500 friends have made a commitment to the University's quest for excellence by contributing to the Blue & Gold Fund. Marquette boasts 14 varsity sports and provides scholarship funding to over 140 Marquette student-athletes. Marquette funds the equivalence of over 76 full-tuition scholarships at a total cost of approximately $2.3 million ($30,000/full-tuition scholarship). The goal of the Blue & Gold Fund is to raise $2.1 million in the 2005-06 academic year. Eventually, the Blue & Gold Fund would like to fund the cost of all student-athlete scholarships on an annual basis. In recognition for their support, Blue & Gold Fund donors are invited to social gatherings with coaches and student-athletes, such as the Hank Raymonds Scholarship Auction and Raffle, and receive priority for seat assignment for men's basketball games at the Bradley Center. Blue & Gold Fund donors are also invited to travel with the Golden Eagles to selected locations each year.
