| Muscles Used | Primary: pectoralis group. Secondary: anterior deltoid. |
| Starting Position | Lying on the floor looking upward. The head is flat on the floor and the arms bent. The hands of the lifter are resting gently behind his/her head. |
| Description | Raise the elbows until they are parallel to each other and perpendicular to the floor (keeping the hands relaxed and behind your head). Pause momentarily, then recover to the starting position. |
| Spotting | Kneel at the head of the lifter and place hands on the inside of the lifter's elbows. |
| Points To Emphasize | 1. At the mid-range of the exercise, pause for one second, do not allow the elbows to touch. |
