Manual Resistance Lateral Hip (Single Leg)

| Muscles Used | Primary: gluteus maximus and medius |
| Starting Position | Lying on your left side, hips and knees in an extended position. |
| Description | Keeping the legs in th eextended position, raise the right leg up, as far as possible, pause momentarily. |
| Spotting | Kneeling down behind the lifter, place the left hand on the lifter's right thigh and the right hand on the side of the ankle. Apply resistance with both hands at these two points throughout the exercise. |
| Points To Emphasize | 1. The lifter's body should remain in a stable position throughout the exercise, without rolling the hips backward. 2. To exercise the left side, roll over on the right of the body, the spotter should apply pressure at the same points on the opposite leg. |
