Manual Resistance Neck Flexion
4/28/2006 12:00:00āÆAM | General
| Muscles Used | Primary: neck flexors |
| Starting Position | lying on a bench or table with your neck muscles in the extended position. |
| Description | Bring the chin to your chest, hold this position for one count, then recover to the starting position. |
| Spotting | CAUTION! The spotter must be extremely cautious to avoid possible injury to the lifter. The spotter should place his/her hands across the lifter's forehead. The spotter should allow the first three reps to warm up the neck muscles and gradually increase the amount of resistance applied until you are working at a near all-out effort raising and lowering the head. |
| Points To Emphasize | 1. If the exercise is properly performed, you should not be able to raise the weight of your head on the last repetition. |
