W. LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Marquette outdoor track & field team competed at the Mike Poehlein Inviational, held on the campus of Purdue University in W. Lafayette, Ind.
Michaela Courtney beat the competition in the 5,000m run by over a minute, clocking 16:47.66. Kristina Malin captured the 800m run in a time of 2:13.06. Cassie Peller won the 1,500m run, crossing the finish line in 4:35.84. Teammate Heidi Lindeman was sixth, in 4:54.25. In the 3,000m steeplechase, Tara Hinke was second in a time of 11:32.40.
Lana Rabas placed fourth in the high jump, clearing a height of 5'2 1/2" (1.59m). Heather Thomason was sixth in the shot put, with a toss of 40'2 1/4" (12.24m). Jessica Ehlen was fourth in the discus throw, with a heave of 140'6" (42.82m), while Audra Ketelsen was sixth (132'5"/40.37m). Ehlen and Jenna Mahaffey went 2-3 in the hammer throw, with Ehlen registering a toss of 158'7" (48.34m) and Mahaffey 152'11" (46.61m).

On the men's side, Jed Burey picked up a win in the 800m run, crossing the line in 1:55.29. Loren Wagner was second in the 400m hurdles, in a time of 55.71. MU's 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams each picked up victories. The 4x1 won in a time of 42.72, while the 4x4 recorded a 3:19.05 finish.
Raymond Bratchett won the high jump, clearing a height of 6'5 1/2" (1.97m). Andy Ballard was second in the shot put, with a heave of 52'9 1/2" (16.09m) and fifth in the discus throw (160'3", 48.84m). Damian Anisko was second in the hammer, with a heave of 174'1" (53.07m), while Ballard was fifth (145'4"/44.29m). Zach Pawlowski was sixth in the pole vault, with a leap of 15'1" (4.60m).
