| Starting Position | Lie face down on a flat bench, let arms hang down so that the palms are facing each other. |
| Description | Raise arms up and out to the sides until elbows are level with the shoulders. Squeeze shoulder blades together. Pause momentarily and then recover to the starting position. |
| Spotting | Be prepared to assist at the elbows or the wrists. |
| Points To Emphasize | 1. Keep head in neutral alignment. 2. Make sure when raising the elbows they come out directly to the side and not back. |
