MILWAUKEE - For the third time in the last four years, Marquette had a player selected in the NBA Draft. Steve Novak was taken with the second pick of the second round (32nd overall) by the Houston Rockets.
Novak finished his career as Marquette's all-time leading three point shooter by percentage and all-time leading free throw shooter by percentage. He was a unanimous first-team all-BIG EAST selection as a senior as well.
Novak joins Travis Diener, who was drafted last year by the Orlando Magic, and Dwyane Wade, who was drafted three years ago by the Miami Heat, as Marquette's most recent NBA draftees.
In all, Novak is the 50th player in the history of the Marquette basketball program to be selected in the NBA draft.
