PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Junior guard Krystal Ellis was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll announced by conference officials Monday following her 21-point performance in the Golden Eagles 60-48 victory at Green Bay.
Ellis, who returned to the line-up for the first time since Nov. 17, led all scorers with 21 points and became the 20th player in program history to hit the 1,000th point mark. For the game, she shot 30 percent (6-of-20) from the floor, two of which were from 3-point range, and made seven-of-eight free throws in 32 minutes of action.
She also pulled down seven rebounds to match her career high, added a season-high five assists and grabbed two steals.
The honor roll selection is her second weekly conference honor of the season. Ellis was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on Nov. 19.
Joining Ellis on the honor roll were Fantasia Goodwin (Sryacuse), Shantia Grace (USF), Angel McCoughtry (Louisville) and Shantee Darrian (Providence).
Pittsburgh's Shavonte Zellous was named player of the week and Keisha Hines of Louisville was named freshman of the week.
The Golden Eagles (4-2) will be back in action on Thursday, Dec. 6, when they play at Kansas (5-1). Tip-off is set for 7 p.m., at Allen Fieldhouse.
