Courtney to Compete at 2007 AT&T USA Track & Field National Championships

MILWAUKEE - Graduated senior track & field standout Michaela Courtney has qualified to compete in the 1,500m at the 2007 AT&T USA Track & Field National Championships in Indianapolis, Ind., June 20-24 at the IU Michael A. Carroll Track and Soccer Stadium.
Courtney qualified based on her mark of 4:19.06 from the NCAA Mid-East Regional held at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo., on May 25. The qualifying mark for the event was 4:20.00.
The first round of the women's 1,500m race is scheduled for Thursday, June 21, at 5:50 p.m. The women's 1,500m final is set for Saturday, June 23, at 2:26 p.m.
The top three finishers qualify for the IAAF World Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which take place Aug. 25-Sept. 2 in Osaka, Japan.
It is Courtney's first appearance at USA Track & Field Nationals, and the first Marquette female student-athlete to compete at Nationals since All-American Brianna Dahm did so in 2005 in the 3,000m steeplechase.
