Milwaukee - The Marquette University men's basketball team and staff made an afternoon visit to the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Wednesday, the latest of the team's community service projects in the area.
The Golden Eagles, who arrived back in Milwaukee during the early morning hours after Tuesday night's game against Tennessee in Nashville, helped employees sort and distribute gifts before visiting patients throughout the hospital.
Wednesday's visitors to the hospital were able to see members of the Children's Champions group, who the team meets every year at the Briggs & Al's Run and Walk.
The Golden Eagles participate in a number of community service events throughout the course of the year. The team is currently in a stretch of three home games where members of "Buzz's Bunch" are invite to meet the team pregame and enjoy the game day environment.
"Buzz's Bunch" provided the opportunity for special needs children to experience Marquette men's basketball. For more information call Scott Monarch at 414.288.0237 or scott.monarch@mu.edu.
