MILWAUKEE-- Five track and field athletes competed Friday afternoon at meets around the Midwest with Erynn James recording a personal-best height of 1.76 meters (5-09.25).
"Erynn jumped well and tied the school mark in the high jump," said head coach Bert Rogers. "She had a few attempts at 1.79 meters but was just shy on her tries."
James' height tied the school record in the event and left her just short of the NCAA provisional qualifying mark.
Also competing Friday were the pole vaulters at the Karl Schlender Invitational at UW-Whitewater. Nick Van Deraa recorded a vault of 4.52 meters to finish ninth and Lauren Darnall and Liz Wilkie finished fifth and sixth, respectively, at 3.25 meters.
