Alfano, Madsen Crowned USASA U20 National Champs

MILWAUKEE - Marquette University sophomores Michael Alfano and Chris Madsen helped their club team, the Milwaukee Kickers, win the United States Adult Soccer Association's (USASA) 2009 U20 National Tournament this past weekend in Manalapan, N.J.
In pool play, the Kickers went 2-0-1 with seven points total to finish atop the Group "A" standings. Overall, the squad out-scored their opponents 14-0 in five matches, including the semi-final round and the final.
Madsen was credited with the game-winner, scoring the team's lone goal in the Kickers' 1-0 semi-final win over F.C. Maryland on July 19. The Kickers then went on to knock off Group "B" champion, Greek American Kosmos, in the final by the same tally, 1-0, to claim the USASA Region I National Cup.
