MILWAUKEE – Former Marquette midfielder Justin Milovanov has signed a professional contract for the 2026 season with the New York Cosmos in USL League One.
"Signing my first professional contract with the Cosmos is a dream come true," Milovanov said. "I'm incredibly grateful for my time at Marquette, my coaches, teammates and family for believing in me and helping me reach this point. I'm excited for this next chapter and ready to keep working."
Milovanov completed his collegiate eligibility this past fall. In his two seasons in Milwaukee, he started 28 of 30 matches he played in, totaling 2,401 minutes on the pitch. Milovanov finished the 2025 season with five goals and an assist. He finished his Golden Eagle career with 17 points (8 G, 1 A).
During his first season at Marquette, Milovanov had a knack for scoring match-winners. His three goals led to three of the Golden Eagle wins.
"We are incredibly excited and proud of Justin," said Marquette head coach David Korn. "He is a competitor and has been a great leader and teammate while here at Marquette. He has ability to play multiple positions, and the mentality that will allow him to be an asset at the pro level. We credit him on the hard work that's gone into this point and the mentorship and support from our assistant coaches, sports performance staff, athletic training staff and his teammates. He is a great addition to a historic soccer franchise that begins a new chapter and is looking for not only a talented player, but a man of high character."
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Milovanov came to Marquette after beginning his Division I career at UMass Lowell in 2023.
