Golden Eagles Split Matches Against Wisconsin, Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette women's tennis team split matches on Saturday at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium, falling to Wisconsin, 5-2, before rallying to clinch a 7-0 win over Milwaukee.
The Golden Eagles improve to 8-6 with 11 matches remaining on the regular season schedule.
Sophomore Paola Calderon won both of her Saturday singles matches, tallying a 6-1, 6-2 win against Wisconsin and playing an exciting match over Milwaukee's Dravaric, 6-3, 7-5.
Classmate Gillian Hush entered double digit dual singles wins Saturday, after coming out on the winning side at the No. 6 spot against Wisconsin, 6-2, 6-4, and over Milwaukee at No. 5, 6-0, 6-0. Hush now boasts an 11-3 spring record, and sits at 18-8 overall.
Against Milwaukee, Olga Fischer, Kelly Barry, Rachael Hush and Elly Strother all won their singles, and all three doubles teams of Fischer/Maggie Wilson, Calderon/Gillian Hush and Rachael Hush/Barry came out victorious.
Marquette hosts Miami (Ohio) on Wednesday, March 3 at 1:30 p.m.
