Head Coach Terri Mitchell
About Syracuse's play in the second half...
"I thought Syracuse did a much better job of taking care of the ball. Obviously, their turnovers in the first half helped us get out in transition, so when they limited their turnovers, it gave us less chances in transition looks. On offense their rebounding numbers, they made an effort to get those rebounds. In a close games those numbers make the difference. They were more patient looking for the best shot."
About Marquette's play in the second half...
"I think we missed a lot of easy shots. We still had the shots, but we missed them. I was more concerned about the defense. When we didn't make the shot, we didn't get the stops so there were more emotional plays in the second half. When we missed an easy one, they came right back at us."
Junior Guard Angel Robinson
About Marquette's play...
"We worked the ball really well in the first half and we tried to continue that in the second half. It was just rebounds. We focused on it all week because we know Syracuse is a great rebounding team. We just have to buy in and do it. That was the game right there. Rebounding. We also missed some easy bunnies that we needed to finish. The coaches kept telling us to rebound and we didn't do it."
Intensity difference in the second half...
"We knew Syracuse prides itself in being a second half team and not all five of us on the court had that mindset. We had to come out hard because they were going to come out hard. They are a second-half team and they pull games out in the second half. Not all of us being on the same page hurt us."
