Walnut, Calif. - On the first night of competition at the Mount San Antonio College Relays, senior Jayne Grebinski and junior Peter Bolgert improved their personal bests in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and moved towards qualifying for the NCAA Regional Championships.
"It was a pretty good night for Marquette in the steeplechase," said head coach Bert Rogers. "Jayne ran about a 6-7 second PR, in the fastest section. Both Jayne and Peter moved up on the decending order list for the regional and I think we kicked off the Mt. SAC weekend pretty well."
Grebinski finished 11th in 10:23.86, while Bolgert placed third (9:01.04) in the men's section. Blake Johnson also competed and placed eighth in 9:08.63.
The Golden Eagles will return to action at the Mt. SAC Relays tomorrow afternoon and continue action Saturday at the Iowa Invitational and Beach Invitational.
