MILWAUKEE -
The No. 69 Marquette women's tennis team fell to the Wisconsin Badgers, 6-1, in Madison on Wednesday evening.
The doubles pair of seniors Christina Ruiz and Rachael Hush secured a win at the top spot for the Golden Eagles, but was not enough to counter two Badger victories from the Nos. 2 and 3 positions.
Ruiz also tallied the lone point for Marquette, coming back from a 1-6 loss to rally, 7-6, 7-6, and claim the point.
With the loss, Marquette falls on 6-4 on the season and remains winless on the road. Wisconsin improved to 7-3 and has won six of their last seven.
MU returns to action on Friday against Green Bay and Detroit at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively, before taking to the road for six straight away matches.
