Men's Soccer Climbs in the National Rankings

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's soccer team picked up another win over the weekend, improving to 5-0-0 on the season, as the Golden Eagles continued to climb in the national polls and rankings.
Soccer America has Marquette ranked No. 13 this week, the highest-ever national ranking for the men's soccer program and up six spots from last week. MU comes in at No. 17 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com rankings and in the NSCAA/Continental Tires poll, and the Golden Eagles moved up eight spots to No. 21 in the College Soccer News rankings.
Soccer Times had not yet released its weekly rankings as of Tuesday evening. In other news, Eric Pothast was named to the College Soccer News Team of the Week on Monday after scoring his third game-winning goal of the season and adding an assist in Marquette's 3-0 shutout over Western Illinois last Saturday.
Additionally, the NCAA released its first national statistics report on Tuesday. With four shutouts in their first five matches, the Golden Eagles currently rank fourth in NCAA Division I in shutout percentage (.800) and are tied for first with a perfect winning percentage (1.000).
