
Marquette Falls in 5-2 Decision at Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Marquette women's tennis team (10-11) opened its final regular season matches at Louisville on Saturday afternoon where the Golden Eagles fell, 5-2 to the Cardinals at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
U of L scored the doubles point winning at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, while the tandem of Ana Pimienta and Erin Gebes won 5-4 at No. 2 singles in a match that did not finish.
Pimienta narrowly fell in singles action as she took her first set, 5-7 over Julia Fellerhoff. After dropping the second set at No. 1 singles, she lost the match in a 10-4 third set decision. Junior Rocio Diaz won her match at No. 4 singles with a comeback 5-7, 6-2, 10-5 victory over Stefanie Villajuan. Dawson was also able to bounce back to score for MU with a 3-6, 6-2, 10-8 victory over Mandy Brown at No. 5 singles.
The Golden Eagles will travel to Cincinnati to conclude the 2013 regular season on Sunday. The match is slated to begin at 10 a.m. CT.
