Head coach Louis Bennett's last trip to Ann Arbor (and MU's first-ever game at U-M?Soccer Stadium) back in 2011 resulted in a 2-1 victory for the Golden Eagles as then-freshman Kelmend Islami netted the golden goal with 51 seconds remaining in double overtime off a goalkeeper assist from David Check. That win was a major turning point for the Golden Eagles. MU, which was 1-4-1 to start the 2011 campaign, has since boasted a 24-6-3 overall mark in the regular season.
Last year, Marquette erased a 1-0 deficit with a pair of second-half goals by Axel Sjoberg as the Golden Eagles topped Michigan 2-1 at Valley Fields.
